Chicken broth

I make this chicken broth for my cats and freeze it in ice trays or ice cube bags. This way I can defrost a couple and serve it with their raw mix. I got the recipe from Whole Health for Healthy Cats. I sometimes use chicken wings and thighs in stead of just bones and then feed the cooked chicken to my cats.

Ingredients:
Chicken bones (or other animal) from approximately 2 organic chickens
1-2 carrots cut into small pieces
2 celery stems with leaves
230 grammes mushrooms cut into small pieces (I like to add some dried wild mushrooms)
a bunch of flat leaved parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
3-4 litres water

Add all the ingredients to a large pot, adding the water to cover everything. Let it all simmer for 3-4 hours. Divide the liquid and solids. If there is any meat, you can save it and feed it to your cats (mine like eating the vegetables too). Let the broth cool and skim of the fat on top. Pour the liquid into ice trays and store in the freezer. Serve with raw mix or if your cat is sick and has a poor appetite.
